Guest guest
Congratulations Cyndi! Best wishes for your recovery and feel free to ask anything, any time! Here are some recovery tips: * Avoid anyone with coughs and colds firmly. Coughing and sneezing will hurt for the first weeks and laughing could hurt immediately after the operation. * Two sofa cushions behind you watching TV may be more comfortable * Even if you feel great, if you over-do it, you may feel extra worn out later in the day * A short walk up the road and back each day isn't a bad idea if you feel up to it. * Lifting objects onto surfaces off the floors saves you having to keep bending down * Some very lightweight long stick can be very handy to save the annoyance of bending down and getting up to pick up things you've dropped etc. Something like a gardener's thin bamboo stick is ideal. * Don't worry if you feel tired earlier in the evening as you recover * Try to avoid a diet that could cause constipation. * When feeling guilty about not helping out more, remember you can always make it up to people when youfeel well again * No lifting, pushing etc of heavy weights. No balancing precariously to get to a top cupboard risking an accident! * Keep the scar area clean * You will still be bloated, but don't worry...it should go down eventually * You probably will get mysterious sensations as everything heals over the next weeks and months. If your pain increases even though you have been resting properly or their seems to be a fluid, tell your doctor to have it checked out. * Many late night drinks=more getting up in the night=more discomfort with the hassle of getting out of bed!
