Another useful tool is something called the " Diva Cup. " It is a silicone

menstrual cup that

holds (and measures) up to an ounce of menstrual fluid. This is considerably

more than a

heavy pad can hold. Before I knew why I bled heavily, I used it to save on

paper products.

Once I was diagnosed with fibroids, I could tell my doctor exactly how much I

bled. It was

better than saying, " A lot. " It holds enough blood that I very rarely had an

accident. I even

quit bleeding on my sheets. I still used pads, but only one or two a day as

back-up.
