Your gynos say that the colon is on the LEFT side?

Well, yes, PART of the colon is on the left side (the descending part), but

the colon also is on the right side (the ascending colon) and it also runs

across horizontally (the transverse part of the colon).

The colon is the last six FEET of the intestine. So depending on the size of

your fibroid, it could be compressing a part of your colon. This is something

that an ultrasound wouldn't show--but MRI or CT (which, however is not a good

test for fibroid imaging) could reveal.

BTW, Your altered bowel function (constipation alternating with diarrhea)

sounds a lot like the classic (and very treatable) Irritable Bowel Syndrome,

which is very, very common among Fibroidians----(AS WELL AS our NON-Fibroidian

peers).
