Guest guest
Ablation? This works very well for women WITHOUT fibroids. Don't understand why your Doctor would give you this obtion!!!! Did he mean UFE (embolization)??? UFE works excellent for heavy bleeding and fibroids. They shrink in time. It has also been known that women can get pregnant after the embolization very succesfully but lable it " unkown " becuase of lack of research and follow up with these patiets. What about myo? Have you looked into this? This may be your route since you still seem to maybe want kids someday. I would do your own research here and not be lead by the doctors saying you need a hysterectomy. They all say that without much other obtions. How big are your fibroids? this is important and can determine what procedure would work for you. If they are big, then probably myo or UFE. The only thing with myo is that they have a pretty good chance of growing back! With UFE, they won't grow back and the risks are very minimal. Jen > I may finally have to consider a hysterectomy. Guest guest
, I don't know the answer to your question, but you might want to ask it at another list group that NUFF has a close relationship with, called Sans Uteri. This is a list for women who have had hysterectomies and are trying to understand side- or after-effects they have developed. I would think that someone there might be able to help you. You can find their website at http://www.findings.net/sans-uteri.html. There is a $12 yearly fee to join, however if you just want to ask a single question and have members of Sans Uteri reply directly to you, you can contact the group owner, Beth Tiner, at findings@... and ask her if she will send your question to the group. Mention that one of the moderators at the uterinefibroids list suggested you contact her, and good luck. Leonie Co-moderator, uterinefibroids list > I may finally have to consider a hysterectomy. Guest guest
Thanks Jen: > What about myo? Have you looked into this? Jen, yes I did omit to mention that I have already had a myomectomy to remove 9 large sized fibroids about 8 years ago and at least 2 of them have grown back and size of grapefruits and one is causing bladder and potential siatica problems (I am going in for a MRI May 21). I have also had emergency tubal ligation, few miscarriages, and a recent D&C and lap last year to remove polyps and clean out my cavity that is full of scar tissue. > Ablation? My gyno (female) said that I would have a 50% chance with the ablation that either my fibroids with the size would be a problem in surgery or will still have the ability to grow larger in my 10 years prior to metopause. Prior to our recent meeting I was all set for the option of ablation when she mentioned another operation.
