Hi Everyone. I haven't posted in a while. I just read the post with

Dr. West's website, www.repmed.com. On the site he basically says

that anyone conceiving and delivering a child with large fibroids is

the exception ( " rare occurance " is the exact phrase he used). This

was a harsh wake up to me and I'm not really sure what to think at

this point. I know there are people on this list who have had babies

with large fibroids, and other research I've read doesn't seem as

bleak. I've already had an ab myo (7 years ago) so another one isn't

going to be as helpful to my fertility as for someone having their

first, and may in fact do more harm than good. The more I read the

statistics the more depressed I get and I don't think that's doing me

any good. Any thoughts? One baby is all I want. As helpful as it's

been, I'm seriously thinking about unsubscribing from this list. I

just don't want to

think about it/obsess about it anymore.

Kim, if you have large fibroids, have you recently seen a

gynaecologist about them?

The best thing would be to get expert advice about your specific

case. They may say something unexpected that makes you feel

happier about the situation.

Fibroids might happen again, but then again they might not. If

they do, they may be much smaller and less hassly, or it may be

some time before fibroids appear.

If you have a chat with the gynaecologist soon and they are good,

it'll hopefully give you a much clearer idea of your options or what

to do next.

I don't know if a second myo is the right solution for you or not.

(Have you tried the Yahoo ttc myomectomy group too?). I would

find out where you stand though. Fibroids may of course,

possibly call for a more invasive treatment as they get bigger.

Then again, you might get good news that your case is better

than you thought.

We can talk in general terms but they can advise on the specifics

of your case and you'll know where you stand.
