Guest guest
Hi, it's me again. As many of you know, I continue to have pain every day after my myo on November 18. I basically had 2 surgeries in one because I had a lap. myo that had to be converted to open myo. Some have commented that perhaps it was the skill of the doctor that caused me to need an open surgery. I disagree, however, as many laparoscopy doctors refused me because I was a hard case. This doctor only promised to try a lap. myo. It was about a 50/50 chance going in. Anyway, as it turns out, one of the lap. incisions has caused more problems than anything else. It's not so tiny like other people describe. They had to open it more on the surface in order to close the lower layers properly. It bothered me from the beginning. My doctor believes that my pain all stems from the deep sutures in that scar, which is on my side. I need to take a strong dose of Advil for the next week or so even if I do not feel I need it, just to control the pain and swelling (yes, I still have swelling). I need to use moist heat and I need to stretch to loosen up the scar. He said that I should make good progress with these conservative treatments. So, having a surgery converted from lap. myo to open has caused more healing time. It was worth a shot though. Kerie
