Guest guest
I am a 48 year old with one pretty good size fibroid. BUt my question is about menopause. The past 2 months have been very very light periods. ANd, I had a US yesterday and the tech said my fibroid had shrunk. Any input from those who've been there? THanks, DIane
Guest guest
I can't say I've been there but, I do know as you approach menopause your estrogen levels in your body decrease. Fibroids feed off of estrogen, it is considered one of the main hormones that it needs to continue growth. The reduction in your fibroid size can well enough be b/of the reduced amount of estrogen now present in your body. You might want to wait for your gyn to concur on the shrinkage of your fibroid instead of listening to the radiology tech. -Shaunah > I am a 48 year old with one pretty good size fibroid. Guest guest
Hi Diane, What you're experiencing is exactly what I hope to see. I'm 53, and haven't had a period for over 60 days. I see my ob/gyn at the end of this month, and expect she'll send me for another ultrasound, which will hopefully show my fibroid beginning to shrink.
