Guest guest Posted May 29, 2004 Report Share Posted May 29, 2004 Hello, I finally got to meet Dr. West today, I went for my consultation and I must say that it went just like I expected it to go, maybe better! He is as wonderful and caring just like everyone that has used him said he would be, I absolutely loved him. I was very comfortable speaking to him, he answered all of my questions and took time to speak with me in details about everything. He made me feel like there is nothing this man can't tackle, including my scar tissue (that is my biggest worry about this whole thing) and absolutely re assured my that Hystorectomy is something that just WILL NOT happen. I scheduled a myomectomy for July 16th. He told me he expects my surgery to be anywhere between 4 to 6 hours long, promised me that by the next day I'll be walking around relatively pain free and that I would be discharged from the Hospital after 48hrs. Something really wonderful that he said was that he will be able to remove the old scar I have (from previous myo and 2 C sections) so I will only have this last one and also he would be able to tighten my stomach skin so it would not be droopy. I don't feel a bit nervous about this (this is my 2nd time around for myo) and actually can't wait for the 16th of July to come around so I can be over and done with this whole fibroid mess! Thank you to all the LOL that have shared their experience with Dr. West, if it wasn't for you guys I would have never have found this great Doctor. The countdown has started!
