Hi Everyone,

I just wanted you all to know that I'm home and feeling fine. I

wouldn't written sooner but I had some issues w/my ISP and had to

tell them a word or 2 about messing w/my internet service and

claiming I requested to remove it the same day I was in the OR.

Anyway, on Tuesday I went into the hospital at 6:30am (same day

admissions). I even ran into someone I worked w/3 yrs back. I wasn't

nervous at all. They checeked my blood pressure and temperature and

put my allergic to tylenol bracelet on. I changed into my gown, and

my RE came in to say hello and that he'll see me later but first he

had to go teach a class.

A little while later I was being rolled towards the OR and chit

chatting w/the anthesiolgist. The last thing I remember is entering

the OR and them telling me the OR table is very narrow and to shimmy

onto it. I never felt my body touch the table...I was already knocked

out.

I woke up in recovery w/cotton mouth and asking for my mother. I was

a little cold from the medication, so they gave me towels and a

heating lamp to keep me warm. I didn't have a sore throat. Due to my

pulmomary dr prescribing prednisone prior to my procedure it

elimiated any inflammation. My pain was about a 4 and I guess they

felt that I didn't need any medication at that time.

I was then brought down to my room and when my RN came to check on my

incision I YELLED!!! So.....there was the pain. She then realized

they didn't give me any medication so I got a shot a morphine. I was

on morphine the first night every 4 hours until 5am. Then they

changed my pain medication. Around 3pm the same day of the operation

my mom and the RN " dangled " me from the bed (that must be nurses

talk) and then I stood up. I had a fever during the night and had to

have the temp of the room adjusted b/I was feeling an asthma attack

coming on.

The next morning (wed) my catheter was taking out and my thingies on

my legs that kept the circulation was removed. My dr came in and

told me all was well and he's sending me home on wednesday. He also

asked me if I wanted to race him in the 100m (very funny...hmpf!) He

only saw the 2 huge fibroids there when he opened me up... all the

small ones were no longer there. I was on a regular diet on Wednesday

morning for breakfast. I had no trouble walking to the bathroom and

on the floor. I did knee raises...like marching as I was told by my

RN and I slept on my left side to help pass gas quicker.

I was discharged Thursday as promised by my dr. I only felt pain once

when my dad stopped short driving.. ( i thought my uterus was on the

windshield). other than that, I just started out being a little stiff

in the morning but can take showers which loosens everything up. I

used laxatives only 2 times and I have no problem bending to pick

things off of the ground. Such as the bar of soap I dropped in the

shower yesterday.

So, now I'm just following dr's orders. I do fatigue quickly so I

haven't tried going outside since Thursday....I will be going on this

week though.

My incision is pretty.. my belly is no where near as swollen as it

was prior to surgery. The hospital staff and my RE were excellent in

dealing w/me. The only thing they didn't respond to was when I asked

how I go about getting a copy of my medical records. I figure I'll

deal w/that in the upcoming weeks.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all your support!

Shaunah :)

26yrs old w/no fibroids hehehe!!!
