Re: upcoming myo- horizontal cut

Dear , ALso this is for Lai,

Dr. Stanley West was my surgeon. Tuesday will be three weeks. I

am going to put in half days of dental hygiene tomorrow ( first time) and

tuesday. The following week I will work 2 full days. So Ill let you know how it

goes. This morning I walked for 30 minutes at a leisurely pace around the

neighborhood. It wes great. Last night I attended my friends wedding and I

danced

some and carefully. I would have to say that Im about 70% back. You see, I did

catch a cold last week and that also contributes to making me feel a bit tired

in the afternoon.

In response to Lai, my uterus was at approx 24 weeks (above my navel)

and the most predominant 12cm fibroid was top left of uterus. There was

another 11 cm toward my spine and 18 more(plum size and smaller). Dr. West said

he

would do the horizontal cut and I told him to do the best he could. The cut

looks like a 7 inch smile( in the pubic hair line). He had hoped he could make

do with a4 inch cut but I had a huge uterus. To date I have lost 7 pounds. Also

he told me he does not cut the abdominal muscle but rather stretches it. My

muscle tone feels pretty strong. I did feel that it was important that I trust

my doctor so that I could go into surgery relaxed (which I did). You will

feel so much better when this is over. I am so happy that I made the decision

for

the removal of my fibroids. Im 51 years and Dr. West says I will not have any

more fibroid problems. P.S. These fibroids never gave my any trouble getting

pregnant (of course I was 26 and 28 years old having my son and daughter.
