Guest guest
I did not ask to see my fibroids but I asked my Dr. if he would take pictures of them if I brought a disposable camera. He looked at me as if I had 2 heads and kind of laughed...he said....well I have never had that request....but he offered to bring his digital camera....he did and printed me off a copy. I don't know if you would be able to actually physically see them because they go to the pathology department.....did your Dr. say she would get them for you to look at? Anyway...good luck with your surgery! > I am just curious if anyone else has asked to see their fibroid & > what their Dr.'s reaction was. Guest guest
Thanks, . I am not looking forward to the surgery but I am looking forward to having it behind me. She did mention something about pathology and wasn't sure how she could work it. I would be happy, though, with a photo (and who knows how long it will take me to come out of anesthesia)..it just seems to make it more real to actually see what was removed. Maybe we can bring our digital camera and they can snap a picture of it on its way to pathology... > > I am just curious if anyone else has asked to see their fibroid & > > what their Dr.'s reaction was. Guest guest
Probably busily trying to figure out how it could be used against them in a court of law ;-) LOL Maybe it stems from medical school when patients were examples in a text book and didn't speak? Guest guest
Hi Cindy, I ask my Dr the take pic..he said sure!! Without any hesitation, he said i should get a disposable camera which i did get. The morning of my surgery i handed it to the OR nurse, she took over 8 pics of my fibroids , uterus and ovaries and fallopian tubes.. The pics look amazing..i was shocked at what the fibroids lookied like.. littlepetuniablossom68 Lmdailey@...> wrote: I am just curious if anyone else has asked to see their fibroid & what their Dr.'s reaction was. Guest guest
I asked my doc if he would take pix if I brot in a disposable camera, he said sure. I was not the first to ask. As it turned out, one of his residents had a cute little digital camera and took digital pix and e-mailed them to me. When I showed them to relatives (fun, huh?) one (guy) commented that the docs must be very confident about the quality of their surgery to give the patients pictures (possible " evidence " in any potential lawsuit). I hadn't thot of that, but it was another reassurance to me about my doc.
