Sorry to be so late in responding. I used to live in Columbia, and

the Dr. that performed my 2nd surgery (the hysterscopic d&c) was Dr.

Apgar of the Women's Ob-Gyn group in Columbia. The surgery

went fine, but I do not think she has performed a lot of problematic

fibroid procedures, especially on women of color. She said after my

surgery that the softball sized fibroid I had was the biggest she'd

ever seen. When I went to Dr's this go round for my upcoming ab myo

and told them she said that, one (a dr who sees primarily African

American patients) of them almost laughed saying, " I see ones big as

5 pound twins on the regular. "

But, I digress..

The Dr. who is doing my ab myo on 4/29 is Dr. of

Physicicans and Midwives Collaborative Practice in northern Va. They

have 2 locations in andria and one in Lake Ridge, VA. She comes

highly recommended and I felt very comfortable with her in the

office.
