Guest guest
cathy, what i know about seratonin syndrome is that you would have to OD on it before clonus and/or any other such side effect would occur. would encourage reading of the booklet that seeems to be in 6 pt font that comes with any ssri to see how such a thing could occur. tawny email from Tawny H. Swain Castle, MA Paxil and Clonus / Seratonin Syndrome Do any of you know anything about Paxil causing clonus? Or have you heard of Seratonin Syndrome? I was just doing some searches on clonus and and articles started coming up about it. I am on Paxil. Could it be causing my PLS symptoms? Websites were talking about any drug that increases your seratonin causing this...the SSRI's and some others. Paxil is one of them. Thanks, Cathy ------------ --------- --------- --- Talk is cheap. Guest guest
Ya, I wondered if it was more of an acute thing than a chronic thing, but one page that I read said that it could be from taking a normal dose or an OD. So, that is why I was wondering if it could some how be a side effect? I guess I was hoping that that was the case and that I all I would need to do was just get off the paxil. I did start taking it just before I started having these symptoms about 5 years ago. Thanks, Cathy TH Castle dukerules413@...> wrote: cathy, what i know about seratonin syndrome is that you would have to OD on it before clonus and/or any other such side effect would occur. would encourage reading of the booklet that seeems to be in 6 pt font that comes with any ssri to see how such a thing could occur. tawny email from Tawny H. Guest guest
i understand looking for something " other than " or at least trying to figure out " what " as i do it periodically myself. chances of seratonin syndrome occurring, as i am sure you read are slimmer than pls happenning! good question tho! hang in there! you would likely have some other untolerable side effects before the seratonin syndrome would play itself out. tawny email from Tawny H. Guest guest
All SSRIs whether Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor or what exhibit clonus and even fasciluations in less than 1 % of patients. I happened to be one of those lucky ones. It's listed in the very, very fine print on each package insert. Sure makes the inevidible depression with this disease a bear to manage. Hope you do NOT have the SSRI problem. Eva > > Do any of you know anything about Paxil causing clonus? Or have you heard of Seratonin Syndrome?
