Guest guest
I've been diagnosed as having three rather large fibroids (between 6- 8 cm), one on the outside lower lefthand side and two subserosal on either side of the top of my uterus. All have been growing which means I've moved out of wait-and-see mode. I can feel all three of them and look about 2 mos. pregnant but don't have many of the other symptoms associated with fibroids (no abnormal bleeding or anemia, relatively pain-free, and only occasional minor constipation). I'm 35 and would like to retain my option to have children so I've decided that myomectomy is in all likelihood my best option. I know all of the possibilities and the many risks but the one thing I haven't found is a doctor with whom I am comfortable enough to have the surgery. I'm in the Los Angeles area and have noticed that 's name has come up on here. Unfortunately he is not covered by my insurance so I'm wondering if anyone out there has any other suggestions for good myomectomy doctors in this area. My gyno specializes in obstetrics and the only other rec I've gotten is for a gyno oncologist, who while good surgeons aren't necessarily the best prepared for this type of surgery. Thanks for any and all help!
