Guest guest
Hello Ladies, I have been back to work for 2 weeks now, even though I got my bosses to let me work shorter hours at first. I only worked till 3pm these past 2 weeks, but the truth is by the time I got home I was so exhausted I didn’t even have energy to cook dinner or do anything else. Social life? Forget that!.. It’s not the kind of “normal tiredness” that I used to feel after working from 9am to 9pm before, but a much worse one. Some days I feel like life is seeping away from me, that I’m going to die from the tiredness, and it makes me want to cry. A few times I even fell asleep on the sofa by 8.30pm with all the lights on, etc. My whole body aches, and I am so bloated at night that my weight goes up by 1 to 2 kilos compared to morning. Did any of the post-myo ladies experience such tiredness? How long did it last? My Dr. had warned me that I’d feel tired easily, but I’m starting to get worried about ever going back to my energetic, active self. I can’t even imagine going back to the gym at the moment – am thinking of cancelling my membership even. I used to work 12 hs/day often, sleep max. 5hs/night, work out for 1.5hs 2-3 times/week and be fine, so you can imagine my frustration… Any feedback much appreciated. re: uterine contractions during periods? Another question, totally unrelated to my tiredness, re periods please. When one has bad period cramps, is it wrong to say it’s because the uterus is contracting (as in a mini-labour) to get rid of the blood & sometimes bloodclots? I mentioned uterine contractions to a friend, and she scorned me for it (and hurt my feelings…), implied that I was totally ignorant, that menstruation happens as a result of the endometrium peeling off, not because the uterus contracts.. Well, I knew that, but I thought that when you had the bad pains it had to do with ut. contractions? Does the uterus not contract at all during periods then? Can anyone illuminate me on this subject please? Thank you ladies! Chie
