Guest guest
, Have you had an transvaginal ultrasound to see how big this fibroid is? If not, you should tell your gyno you want one. How old are you? Just curious if if the watch and wait could work for you.. Your symtoms are NOT THAT SEVERE!! You could wait this out as long as the bleeding does not get bad. You'll know. For me I had a 10cm fibroid. I knew I had this for about 3 yrs. Played the watch and wait, not severe symtoms except periods were getting heavier and heavier!!!!!! Definately soaking up tampons with pads as a backup every hour. Finally, in last october, I had hemmoraging and gushing for about 4 1/2 hrs. straight. Awful and frightening. Through the rounds of tests, my gyno told me to still watch and wait. " This may or may not happen again " Well, sure enough, every other month this happenedn, meanwhile, I was researching the UFE procedure and aligning myself for it just in case. Then in January, breakthrough bleeding happened. Totally crazy. I then had my procedure moved up, by this time I was totally anemeic due to blood loss. Anyway, had it done 1/30. Bleeding has totally stopped and I'm feeling great. Good luck to you, but be aware and keep researching, Jen > Hello, > > I am new to this group and dx with a uterine fibroid 3 years ago > that was not too large at the time. > > I just returned from my physical where my doctor told me that my > uterus was quite enlarged and he felt that my fibroid was the size > of a grapefruit.
