Robin, if you're not getting a response, it may be that either no one

here has had that procedure, or they weren't told that it would be

part of their surgery.

I don't know if it's the same thing or not, but I have heard

of a colpotomy. In this procedure the fibroid is removed via an

incision in the vagina.

When I was getting opinions for a lap myomectomy I asked if a

colpotomy would be done. Going from memory, the response I received

was that it was an old method that was not used very often anymore. I

believe that it was no longer used after the introduction of high

speed morcellators.

Thanks for the response. Just wish I could hear from anyone who has

actually had it done. The detailed description on the women's surgery

site was pretty daunting.
