Guest guest
Two doctors, both very qualified in performing myo's and referrals for UFE, in my opionion, have told me that for me a subtotal hysterectomy may be the best way to go: mutliple fibroids, 5-6 month " pregnant look " , pressure on organs, heavy bleeding, not pain really, thank goodness. I've been dealing with the bulk and pressure (and I think, fatigue) for years basically by saying, oh I can handle this, look at what other people go through. I am showing absolutely no signs of slowing in the period game. I'm 53 so well beyond childbearing (and never went that route, that's just how it worked out). The surgeon I'm considering has had a myo herself and while it's my decision, of course, she rather " nudged " me towards a hyster--that's what she'd do in my situation, at this point. I really think I can go either way (myo or hyster) but I really want the problems to be done with, and it seems like all the options can create unexpected challenges. Has anybody out there in their 50s had a hyster over a myo, when both were an option? How did you decide!? What were the results? --Kim
