Guest guest
My post-myo restrictions are 6 weeks no intercourse (not no sex), no tampons, no baths. I'm pretty sure that the same reason applies to all -- to eliminate contact with bacteria. I had the same restrictions after a hysteroscopy/D&C (though for a much shorter time). Guest guest
My doctor said no intercourse for 3 weeks post-op but not no sex. DH and I re-started sexual activity about 2 weeks post op -- it wasn't the most comfortable thing (kinda hurt after orgasm), but I'm glad we didn't wait much longer. Try checking the archives, too, for more info. > >Reply-To: uterinefibroids >To: uterinefibroids >Subject: Post-Myo Sex restrictions... >Date: Mon, 24 May 2004 15:14:44 -0700 > Two+ weeks post-myo, my surgeon states I still have to 'refrain from >sexual relations' for another two weeks. Guest guest
Hang in there, . I felt frustrated at week 2-3 too, wanting to do more than I really could at that point. Looking back (this was 5 months ago) I know I recovered fast and well. I think maybe that point when you are feeling impatient is when you are starting to get closer to normal but aren't quite there. So think of this as a sign of getting better too. The time will go very fast. Enjoy the fact that you can read, watch videos, catch up on small (I mean **small**) things around the house, take walks around the neighborhood. I spent a day shortening several pairs of pants I had bought over the years on super-sales and always intended to fix (I am a short person and will buy pants that are too long if they are cheap enough to make it worth altering them, but then I never get around to doing it). I spent another couple of days recaning an antique rocking chair that has been handed down in my stepmother's family. That I **had** to do because my husband was positive I never would (it had a sprung cane seat & back for the last 10 years). So it was like a dare. Or just do whatever you will enjoy and can look back at with some appreciation. Believe me, you will be back to normal, and back to your normal routine, before you know it, and we don't get many opportunities to slow down in our lives.
