I have had uterinefibroids. During that time, I bled for 52 days

straight. I had a hysterectomy, then bled for another six weeks after.

But I thought if I could just get over the bleeding, everything would

be fine.... Wrong!

Now I'm told that I have skin granules that must be removed. They

have their own bunch of symptons.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Debbie:

How frustrating for you not to have seen relief for your bleeding after your

hysterectomy!

I hope you're being carefully monitored for anemia, and treated accordingly.

As Ku, e, Sonja, and many others here will remind you, iron deficiency

anemia can sneak up on you, and it can be very problematic. Especially if

you're still bleeding after all this time!

If your doctor thinks you may have skin granules (which I think is similar to

scar tissue--your body forms it in response to injury; obviously, in this

case, as a result of your surgery.)

But unlike scar tissue, skin granules can cause BLEEDING, because that

particular tissue is rich in tiny blood vessels.

If this is determined to be the source of your bleeding, I believe the doctor

can destroy the skin granules via cauterization, and destroy the problem

area--thus completely eliminating your bleeding problem.

I would imagine this procedure can be done laparoscopically--and if it's

anything like the lap surgery (essentially, cauterization) I had years ago, to

remove some endometriosis, it's not a biggie. Very quick recuperation.

Another thought: did your doctor find any sign of *endometriosis* when he

operated on you? That could be another possible cause of your bleeding.

You might also check the hystersisters.com site and inquire there about this

post-hysterectomy complication.

Try to hang in there until the procedure--and don't forget to take your iron,

if necessary, and Vitamin C!
