Guest guest
Anne, You and I sound almost like the same person. I am on BCP and my periods are short, sweet and to the point. I take a couple of ibuprofen for cramps and don't have to miss work. My periods are dark brown in the beginning to a medium color red and they last 3-4 days. Not bad. BUT, my fibroids are causing me a lot of pain and I can't wait until I see the GYN on Monday. Good luck, Anne. Let us know how your ultrasound turns out. Anne said: Is BCPs good management of fibroids? I certainly hope so, because I have been taking them for 20 years. When I was 18 I had primary dysmenorhea (very painful periods with nausea and vomiting) and was put on BCPs which worked beautifully. Shorter periods (2-3) days and cramping is less, can go to work without problems just take a couple tylenol. Now 38. Only problems I have had are the past 2 years there are months when I skip periods, have a little breakthrough bleeding, when I do have a period I only bleed a couple days and I can hardly call it blood it is very dary brown and thick. I also have had a feeling of fullness the past couple months, can only eat small meals and have had so much heartburn the doctor put me on Aciphex, I have lost 4lb, but my pants are still tighter than they used to be. I am due for a pelvic sonogram on Feb. 27. Hope they find what they are looking for, I am getting tired of being told everything is normal when I don't feel normal.
