Amy, I would persist for an answer. Your bleeding could definately

be cuased by the fibroid (s).

The pap test has a high rate of false/positives. Maybe you should

ask for a retest. I had an endometrian biopsy to rule out cancer

after bleeding 4 1/2 hours straight from a fibroid.

Hi,

A pap test is a screening test for cervical cancer not

Uterine/endometrial cancer. For that you need an endometrial bioopsy

or a D+C or a hysteroscopy. How did your OB/GYN know what your Uterus

looked like? Have you asked about changing your BCP? It would seem to

me that perhaps a change in that would be in order. What does he/she

say about the continual symptoms?

right away and little breakthrough bleeding. Then about two weeks

ago I started spotting (new and old blood). I bleed small amounts

every time I use the bathroom and in between and sometimes it looks

like tissue is coming out. I am always in some sort of pain and have

terrible diarrhea/constipation.

hormone therapy after menopause. I am 40 and haven't gone through

menopause. My ob-gyn said my uterus " didn't look cancerous " and they

couldn't find my ovaries (he said cancerous ovaries are enlarged) and

my paps have come back normal. However, I'm now wondering if I

should see an oncologist just in case.

Hi Amy,

You could also speak with a Gyn Oncologist at some point just to

discuss your risk factors for Uterine Ca. The NCI's website is

WWW.cancer.gov. A mother having had Uterine Ca. is not a risk factor

as it is with Breast cancer, but with your concerns and issues maybe

a Gyn Onc could answer the questions you probably have given your

fibroids, possible adeno etc.
