Could try looking up Reproductive Endos in your city

in the phone book or if you give your city someone

might know

Is the hspital he uses a good one?

Try asking what RE have priviledges there or at any

hospital you chose...blame it on insurance if they

give you a run around

not sure what the cell saver is specificly...as in

how it is used

some docs use them some don't

Hi!

A cell saver is used to capture the blood lost from surgery and then it is given

back to the patient via transfusion after the surgery is over. Have you looked

into UFE? I had the procedure done 4 weeks ago and it was by far the best

decision for me. I had 4 fibroids and the largest one was 10cmx4cm.

Good luck,

Janet

When I had my myo a number of years ago, my Dr. ( Marlow of

Washington DC) told me the same thing, and when I asked around I could

find very few people who knew anything about it.

It apparently is a machine that collects some/all parts of the blood

you lose during surgery and in the event you need a transfusion, you

get your own blood back. OTOH, Dr M was a little vague about whether

I should also donate blood for myself pre-surgery, so I did that also.

I'm not sure why it seems so little known.
