Guest guest
Sylvia, Try Dr. West, he is one of the best in NYC, I want to see him myself after I hear what my RE has to say about my fibroids on Monday. I don't know what insurance he takes (I do know that he doesn't participate in my health Insurance) so if I will use him, it will cost me quite a bit out of pocket. His office is on Madison Avenue. MD in NYC? My doctor of the last 4 years retired so I need to find a another doctor in NYC who will support me in avoiding a hysterectomy. Any suggestions? Guest guest
Hello, I was diagnosed with large (mostly asymptomatic) fibroids about four years ago. My gynecologist at the time insisted that I needed a hysterectomy. Luckily though, I had done a lot of research, including becoming a member of this group. I found another physician who was willing to monitor my condition - pelvic exam 2x per year and yearly sonogram. I am now 50 years old and my fibroids are almost the same size as 4 years ago. I'm hoping that menopause will come soon (never thought I'd feel that way) and that the fibroids will shrink, at least a little. My doctor of the last 4 years retired so I need to find a another doctor in NYC who will support me in avoiding a hysterectomy. Any suggestions? I have CIGNA-POS insurance and I work near NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Does anyone know of a good GYN (female preferred, but not required) who will not insist that surgery is the only option? thank you, Sylvia
