Robyn,

I had my UAE on december 12th and it is 2 months now. I had it for pressure

on the kidney and blatter as well as bloating. I had 3 very large fibroids and

enlarged uterus. I have to say I have alot less pressure and feel great. I

won't know for a few months if the pressurer on the bladder was removed. I

think the procedure is a good option to try, there is always the next step if it

doesn't work. It took me a good 2 weeks to feel back to myself.

Just had my UFE on 1/30 for a 10 cm fibroid, with major

hemmoraging since October. For me, hysterecotmy was out of the

question, myoectomy was not really an obtion since I'm done with

having kids, and chances are it will grow right back. UFE was the

least invasive route for me. It's been 13 days and can't say how

the long term is, but I'm recovering mostly due to anemia, feeling

better and better everyday. Try joining the yahoo embo group. I

got all of my information there and it's been such a supportive

group. Good luck, Jen

UAE and ovary removal at the same time?? These two procedures don't

usually go together. Why are you having your ovaries removed?

Robyn,

I have had the UAE 14 months ago and have had good results. My periods were

very heavy/gusing/flooding/clotting/pain. They are now generally 4 to 5 days

moderate to light bleeding; no cramps, no pain, no backaches. Very tolerable.

I'm so glad I did it and the recovery period was not bad at all. I never

had much pain (on a 1 to 10 scale, my pain was never over a 5).

You might join the embo group on yahoo too as many women have had a UAE there

and you can read all of their experiences. For me that group and this one

were a godsend. Good luck with your procedures.
