Guest guest
To pokergirl: I just had a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound. I found that if I drink the water in the car on the way to the hospital, it helps, otherwise my bladder fills and I can't " hold " it. The pelvic u/s is simple and only takes a short time. They then have you use the bathroom and use a wand-like instrument that goes in the vagina (with a condom on it). It didn't hurt me or cause any discomfort and doesn't take long either. I've had this 4 times, so it's no problem. I think I was nervous the 1st one I had and that time I was also bleeding pretty heavy, so I was really embarrased. Good luck--you'll be fine. Guest guest
Hi Anne. I had a transvaginal ultrasound done about a month ago. I drank 32 oz. of water about a half hour before the pelvic part of the ultrasound (on the belly). It was slightly uncomfortable but it was quick. As soon as the tech got what she needed then she let me pee--thank goodness! After I went to the bathroom the tech then did the transvaginal part of the procedure. She put something like a block under my back to lift up the pelvic part of my body. I had my right leg down and my left leg bent. She took about 15 minutes or so to do this part. Overall, it took about 20-25 minutes to do the entire ultrasound. Didn't get to see any pictures but only from the first part of the ultrasound. Got to see my full bladder. It's painless. Good luck to you! Anne wrote: Questions for those of you that shared your photos with the group. Those uterine fibroids seemed very large, could you feel them? How can fibroids of this size go undetected by your gyno, do you not get an annual exam/pap smear, etc.? Are you obese? Not to be rude, but it is a scary to think that at 135lbs, I would not feel a fibroid of that size. Also, I am scheduled for a pelvic sonogram (transvaginal ultrasound) this month they told me to drink 4 to 6 glasses of fluids an hour before the test. Anyone who has had this procedure done could you share your experience with me. Don't know what to expect. If I have insulted anyone here I am sorry, please forgive me. I am being checked for uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts and those pictures really scared me.
Guest guest
Hi , For some reason my old mail account was deactivated and now I can't remember which fibroids group I belonged to - doh! I recognise your name and I want to re - join the group with Jen, Merril Albert + co. Could you remind me which one it was because there are so many different ones! Love Jules xxxx MLic975220@... wrote: To pokergirl: I just had a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound.
Guest guest
I am 125 pounds, I had an 8 cm (tennis ball sized) fibroid and I couldn't tell from the outside - not a bulge anywhere. I do have a retroverted uterus, which may explain why since it was located at the back. Once I knew it was there, I could feel it if I looked hard for it lying on my back. > Questions for those of you that shared your photos with the group. > Those uterine fibroids seemed very large, could you feel them?
