I don't know what Mirena is but I do know that hormones worked for me for a few months and then I was back to massive hemorrhaging. Have you looked into UAE? Gyns don't usually make referrals out of their specialties. You would need to find an Interventional Radiologist to do the procedure if you are a candidate. Guest guest Posted June 8, 2004 Report Share Posted June 8, 2004 i had a merrina for a week and it ejected it self. I had two resections with d&N and this was my obgyn idea. I say the incection was easy. But i had cramps the following day and a little over a week after i had it in I had a sudden need to push like i was haveing a bowl movement and i ran to the toilt and it ejected it self. I was told this was very rare but i also suffered from mood swings and weight gain hidden side effects they forget to tell you about with the merrina for me in one week i gained 5 lbs. The idea was great but it did not work for me. I also heard that if the firbord is in the right place to cause bleeding that nothing in the form of Merrina / Depo lepurn will stop it. Have you condered Embalization since you are at the point were you dont want kids. Also watch fro ammina it can sneek up on you and get you.
