I used to have very frequent UTIs but over the years learned what my triggers were (in fact I don't think my fibroids were a big contributor at least these past few years.) However - the fibroids can press on the bladder and urethra and create opportunities for urine to be left behind (incomplete voiding is not healthy.) My problems from this included having to pee all the time, or not being able to pee at all, and never feeling like I was getting everything out. I always thought my 'world's smallest bladder' situation was the outcome of all the UTIs (in my 20s and 30s I must have had 50 or so) but since the UAE my capacity has increased by a great deal.
