Guest guest
Deanna, I was looking to see what an embolization, (dont laugh.. lol I am very new to all this.) I found this web sight and thought I would share it with you. UAE | Reported Adverse Effects it says one of the effects are loss of orgasm, so why would your Dr. tell you that it wasnt from the surgary? I would print this and show it to your Dr. hope this helps.
Guest guest
Deanna, I had a UAE about 16 months ago and have had absolutely no sexual problems after the procedure. Everything is great and better than before uAE when I experienced a lot of discomfort and pain with sexual function.
Guest guest
Hi, , You've come across a site designed to scare women by listing possible side- or after-effects of UAE with no explanation of the frequency of any of the problems they list, now with any explanation of how these problems were made worse in some cases by some of the GYNs involved. These doctors were opposed to UAE not because it's not good medicine but because it threatened their wallets. This site is a one-sided look at UAE that's designed to frighten, not to educate, women. The organization that put it up, HERS, was the first organization to actively work to help women prevent hysterectomies. They've been around for over 20 years and have helped literally thousands of women to avoid hysterectomy. Many women feel a strong link with the group, as it helped them back when no one else would, to save their uteri. Unfortunately, the only treatment HERS will recommend for fibroids is myomectomy. They seem to have an emotional investement in myomectomy that prevents them from looking at other treatements with unbiased eyes. At one time, they had a large list of doctors to whom they would recommend women; today their list contains only 2 doctors that they recommend. This is another thing that puzzles me, as we know that there are dozens of fine doctors with expertise in myomectomy. I'm going to write another post over the weekend addressing the distortions and lack of explanation for each of the problems listed at the HERS site. May I ask any of your ladies who have figures on the frequency of the problems shown to drop me a line with your information and sources? The HERS site is at www.uterinearteryembolization.com/effects.html. You can reach me at missycatl @ netscape.net (without the spaces before and after the " @ " sign). Thanks. Guest guest
Hi, , The site you came across was designed specifically to discourage women from having embolizations. It's designed to scare you and is not a balanced view of what the typical woman experiences during embolization. As we all know, any medical procedure can have unwanted complications. This includes not only UAE, but myomectomy, ablation, myolysis, hysterectomy... Notice that there are no statistics to tell you how often any of these problems occur with embolization patients. In fact, embolization has a much LOWER percentage of adverse side- and after- effects than hysterectomy or myomectomy. But this site doesn't tell you that. I have more to say about this but have to get to a computer class! Will write more over the weekend. Leonie .... I found this web sight and thought I would share it with you. > UAE | Reported Adverse Effects > it says one of the effects are loss of orgasm, so why would your Dr. tell you that it wasnt from the surgary? Guest guest
Hi, just curious, why did you recieve double the amount of particles? Do you mean he did not affect the cervical artery? I had my embo done end of January. We waited about 3 1/2 weeks before sex. No problem with orgasm at all in fact, I've found orgasms are stronger than ever. I'm glad my parts still work!! Jen > Has anyone who has had an embolization experienced a decrease in a clitoral orgasm? My IR says he did not affect the uterine artery, and I am not having a problem with uterine orgasms. I also have recieved double the amount of particles during my embolization---Thanks----1 year post embo and 2 years post myo.
