Endometreosis and fibroids

I have been diagosed with a fibroid which is pushing my ovaries into

my rectum. My right ovary is larger than my left and in my last

ultrasound, they were almost touching each other. The right ovary is

getting larger by the month. My ob-gyn isn't concerned as much about

the fibroid anymore as the ovary. I am scheduled for a laparoscopy on

the 23rd to see if I have endometreosis. I am very bloated, have

stomach pains and have to urinate frequently. Those all seem to be

from my fibroid but I do have more pain on my right side than the

left. Today my doctor's nurse asked me how much I want done on the

23rd, laparotomy was mentioned and I emphatically said " no " to that.

I am staying with his original suggestion of laparoscopy. There only

seems to be one yahoo group for endo so I am posting this here.

My question is 'isn't it better to start off with a diagnostic

outpatient surgery than laparatomy?? I have quite a bit of pain but I

don't want to go to the extreme this early, I just was diagnosed with

a fibroid in late March/early April.

Thanks.

Ardette
