I feel great now after having 20 fibroids removed, the biggest two of which were the size of a melon. My uterus was 24 weeks size and the fibroids were all embedded within the uterine wall. I very much take exception to the post of yesterday criticizing Dr. West. The suggestion that he has had " tons of disciplinary proceedings " is an irresponsible statement and probably actionable. Please check with Carla and the Internet for the truth. Secondly, those of us who have gone to Dr. West can all testify about not only his competence, but his compassionate approach to his patients and to medicine in general. When you meet with Dr. West, you are comforted immediately. The man is very confident that he can help you in even the most difficult cases, and he backs up his confidence with performance. He is a brilliant surgeon, who knows exactly what he is doing. When he saw my MRI, which revealed seven fibroids, he immediately said that there were going to be more than that. Of course, he was right. For any of you who are considering myos and want to know the truth about Dr. West ask me or Dolly or another patient of his. Guest guest Posted June 11, 2004 Report Share Posted June 11, 2004 Once again, I apologize for critisizing the doctor, since I've never met him and didn't deal with him. I was on another board and actually was conscidering to have a surgery with him when one girl jumped out and said that she was even scheduled for the surgery when she pulled the information about him and found some bluder punctures, etc... Again, I have no right to critic him since I enever dealt with him exept one time when I wrote him e-mail asking his opinion about my situation and asking if I should try to ttc again (was 7 months after miscarriage), so he said that I will miscarry again if I try. I was hurt and upset, taht's all and he said " prove me I am wrong " . I am sure he is a womnderful doctor and made lots of patients happy,.
