Dear Jeanne,

I'm sorry to hear that you are not able to see Dr. Glasner. But you have

done the right thing by going to another gyn for her opinion. She sounds

like a very thorough physician who is concerned about the positive outcome

of your surgery rather than the negative.

I agree that you need to discuss her stats on resections with her. How many

has she performed, how many had complications, how high is your risk of

fluid overload and uterine perferation (the two main complications), and

will you need more than one resection? These questions are important to ask

her because you want a surgeon who is confident and knowledgable about what

risks you will both be taking.

If she is well known in your area for being a good surgeon, find out which

surgeries she performs best. Ask her if you can have a spinal anesthetic so

she can tell you what is happening at every step of the surgery; that is if

you can handle being awake during the procedure.

There are many great gynecologists that are excellent surgeons as well as

OBgyns. If you feel comfortable with her skills and her thoroughness of

your exam and appointment, that is a good sign that she is just as competent

and thorough as a surgeon.

So take a few days to do as much research as you can on resections and this

new doctor so you can ask the best questions possible when you see her, and

you will have covered your bases. So if you do decide to go with her, you

will know that it was the right decision. just as our sister e always

says, " Knowledge is power! " For sure, it helps us choose our doctors, our

procedures, and how fast we recover.

So you weren't able to afford Glasner, but you pressed on and found another

great surgeon. Good for you! Maybe it's a sign that you have found an even

better doctor for you than Glasner!

All my best to you. I will be crossing my fingers that your future

procedure gives you relief from your symptoms, a new hope for a future

pregnancy, as well as a new relationship with a great doctor!

Blessings,

:)Sonja

Dear Ann,

Oh my goodness, what wonderful news! And you've been waiting so long for

such news. We are all so happy for you and your partner.

I know what you mean about walking on egg shells waiting for your period

when it's heavy and life-altering. When it doesn't come you worry more and

may not even consider that it could be late for " the best reason! " Instead,

we worry that it's only going to be heavier and longer when it's late.

oh, I wish you all the best health and positive energy for this pregnancy.

Please keep us posted about how you're feeling along the way. I am TTC

after many myos and am excited to hear your pregnancy stories!

Blessings to you,

:)Sonja
