Guest guest
Edie, They always preferred me to have my ultrasound done within 10 days of the first day of my last period. My radiologist would not allow me to do the songrams at any other time. I think once you develop a certain time of mouth when you initially began having your ultrasounds done you are to continue to have them done around the same time so there would be less inconsistencies. Good luck, Shaunah > Dear LOL: > > I am soon due for another pelvic & transvaginal ultrasound to monitor the grown/shrinkage of my largest fibroid. Can any of you please guide me as to the optimal time to schedule it.... i.e.: Right before period, during period, right after period, etc.??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. > > Thanks, Edie > >
Guest guest
Dear Shauna, Roma and all LOL: Thanks for your replies to my question about timing of ultrasounds (pelvic and TV) to monitor fibroid growth. I guess I am concerned because my periods (I'm 49 and WAY perimenopausal) are FAR from regular - could be every 10-14 days, then skip 2-3 months, and so on. So, that was why I asked if I should go either during a period, or wait until after - because I can never tell when it's going to be BEFORE a period. And - (thanks Roma) - I know I did have some ovarian cysts but any/all gynos who have been monitoring them said they were insignificant in size. And, as far as anticipating ovulation - impossible because of my extremely irregular cycles. Oh well - guess I'll have to wing it. Although I am not due for another ultrasound until September (had one in February 2004, when they found considerable shrinkage), I think I should go sooner - perhaps July or so - because I can feel an almost certain growth, as well as increased symptoms such as bloating, " lumps, " constipation (I use Metamucil and Fiber Choice), and urinary frequency. Thanks again, ladies! Edie
