Guest guest
Carla and all the LOL: While doing some online research for my friend with advanced stage breast cancer, I happened to stumble upon the FIBROID site mentioned below. Here you'll find a chart of some (perhaps... all??) of the drugs currently being investigated for the treatment of uterine fibroids. Some drugs we all know all too well--- (Lupron, for instance), and then there is the much-discussed Mifepristone and Asoprisnil......Also, note the inclusion of the osteoporosis drug Raloxifene (which, someone here suffering with osteo....was that you, Ann???? already mentioned a while ago.) But notice some new names (new to ME, anyway) on the list.....Pivfenidone and Targretin. Perhaps Carla has some info. {Forgive me if this has already been included in the UF archives somewhere.} What I found most surprising is that the well-known drugs INTERFERON and HEPARIN apparently are ALSO now being studied-- in fibroid research! Interesting stuff.... Gives me a whole new respect for rats.....(well, at least for those long-suffering lab rats with fibroids who are helping to advance the cause of non-surgical remedies for uterine fibroid treatment.....)
