Guest guest Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 , CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! 3 tests are almost surely right. I was getting ready to head out to a Superbowl party yesterday, it's been a big deal because I live near Detroit, and I was planning to have a few of my foo-foo girlie drinks when I realized that I should have started my period. I'm normally pretty irregular because of my PCOS, but I've been on Metformin for a couple of months and I felt like I was starting to get on track. Plus, I had been feeling signs that I should start " any day now " for about 2 weeks. I had 1 pg test sitting in the cabinet in the bathroom and decided " why not? I'll take it just in case. " Well it was positive! I couldn't believe it, so I made DH stop at the drug store on the way home last night. And guess what, the other 2 tests were + too (1 late last night and the other again this morning!) DH is so excited! He was ready to call our parents right then and there. But I'm nervous; I swear I can't be but more than 3wks. My charting shows that I should have O'd around 01/19. I've called my CNM and I have an appt for next Monday, but 3 tests can't be wrong, right? It's going to be difficult keeping this to ourselves for a while.... Guest guest Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 , Sounds like you are indeed pg. You are most likely 5 weeks along (they add the first two weeks of our cycle to the weeks even though you are not pg then). Enjoy and I hope for an uneventful pg for you!!! Are you going to stay on the met through the first trimester? With pcos you are at higher chance for m/c so many stay on the met until the placenta takes over (me included). I think met is a miracle drug for me and it sounds like it worked for you too! Best of luck Kathleen t-shape and pcos too! Guest guest Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Hi Kathleen, Yup, I totally agree with saying that Met is basically a miracle drug (at least for those of us w/ PCOS) and I've already got a call in to my RE's office to ask about whether or not I should continue taking the Met. It's funny, I really thought that it would take a LOT longer for the Met to help straighten out my cycles. I just couldn't believe it when I saw the first test. I got a little light headed. DH was really excited right away. I actually felt bad because I wasn't excited. I was just numb. But after I took the 2nd & 3rd test, I started to actually believe & get excited too. Even though we've only know for about 24hrs, I feel like I could explode if I don't tell someone. I work with my bestfriend and it's so diffucult to keep this to myself. But then again, she's one of the people who I would be leaning on IF I were to mc. I don't know, it's so difficult to decide when to share. Right now, we're planning to wait until I atleast see my ob-gyn. That's only 1 wk away, I can wait that long right!?! Thanks again Kathleen, " S. Guest guest Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Hi , Met is short for Metformin. It's actually a diabetic medicine that has been shown to help balance out hormone levels in women with PCOS. And seeing as I had been ttc for almost 3yrs before taking the Met, and then got a BFP after just 2mo on the drug, I would definitely have to say that it has worked for me PCOS, T-shape just got BFP 02/05/06 " rachel.moorhead " rachel.moorhead@...> wrote: What is MET? > , > > Sounds like you are indeed pg. Guest guest Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 , Met is metformin or glucophage - both insulin drugs that seem to work wonders for those with pcos.
