Guest guest
Marne, I have to agree with you on finding this site. I wish I had found this site back in 1998 so I would not have had a myomectomy. At that time the tumor I had was only the size of a cantelope. Now the one I got is the size of a newborn's head. A lot bigger than the last one. I am looking into the UAE procedure instead of doing a hysterectomy. > > >Hi, > >While waiting for my myomectomy 2nd opinion appointment, I'm >wondering about others' forays into Eastern medicines, natural >remedies to help w/ fibroid symptoms. Guest guest
Marne, This is my first post ever...I've been searching to see others results with Eastern medicine as well. I've never had a myo, my fibroids are 13cm, 9cm, and 5cm. All the doctors I've talked to tell me not to do anything unless my symptoms get a lot worse. So in the mean time I am trying acupuncture, herbs, and avoiding dairy and sugar(I'm also a vegetarian-after giving up all that what joy is left? ). It's really really hard and the herbs are kinda gross, but I'm toughing it out to see if it helps my symptoms. So far my bleeding has been a bit more managable and I didn't have any cramps(I have only had on cycle since starting treatment). I haven't finished my treatments yet so I don't know for sure what it is that is helping, but I have to say it's been better than nothing. My acupuncturist says that they cannot shrink fibroids bigger than a lemon, but I keep building up my hopes anyway. I told myself I would accept a lessening of the symptoms, ie. heavy bleeding/clots, cramps, and pressure. I have found that taking extra doses of B-complex(with B12) vitamins right before and during my period lessened the flow a bit before I ever started acupuncture. The acupuncturist is also urging me to do the castor oil packs, but I haven't stuck to that. It's messy. This fibroid stuff really interferes with living! I will try to update when I am done with all the treatments as to whether it really helped or not. If it doesn't, I'm going to eat some ice cream! If you do see an acupuncturits, make sure they are licensed. I have some links, but not on this computer if you'd like them. > Marne, I have to agree with you on finding this site.
