Ohhh, I'm sooo sorry that you are going through this. I totally

understand how you feel. I have UD too and have had many, many

horrible experiences with dr's. I know what it feels like to be

treated like an hysterical woman, a specimin, a freak etc. and to be

utterly ignored (I guess that second period this month was just a

figment of my imagination!)

I'm really sorry but, I do think you need to find another Dr. I

can't believe your dr. would say everything's ok without really

looking! She shouldn't make assumptions about future prospects for

vaginal delivery, shouldn't be rude or short with you & you shouldn't

be bleeding for weeks and weeks on end! There's just so much that is

wrong here! My advice: take charge of your own health care & demand

a thorough, accurate asessment of your current situation.

Have you looked in the folders section & the list of recommended

dr's? I suggest that you call & ask the RE if it is normal to bleed

so long & to recommend an OB who has experience with MAs & time to

focus on your needs. You could also talk to the office staff at the

hospital & ask who the best OBs are--who the patients like best etc.

You will want to take the time to find the right dr. now before you

embark on a pregnancy. It may take a while but it will be worth it.

I'm right there with you doing exactly the same thing hoping to have

Thank you so much! They just make me feel I am a making this stuff

up. I will call my RE. She is real nice. I just did not know if

it was really no big deal and I am just over reacting. I am so

I understand your frustration. Again, you have to take charge since

there is so much confusion about MAs. Are you sure you have UD?

After I replied last night I remembered you mentioned having a

resection. Usually that is not called for with cases of UD. Did

they resect part of a vaginal septum? I'm curious about that since I

have a septum that makes love making a little challenging at times

(enough to make it interesting!). I suggest that you make sure your

diagnosis is accurate before proceeding with a pregnancy. That's

what I'm in the midst of doing right now. It's no fun! Jot down a

list of questions before talking to your RE. That will help a lot.

The RE should be able to confirm the diagnosis, tell you if one side

is larger than the other, discuss potential difficulties etc... I

have about three pages of questions after sorting through the files

section here!

I had a vaginal septum that seperated the two cervix,It ran from top

to bottom. I had it removed about two years ago. It was an

outpatient procedure, took about 45 minutes. It has made life so

much eaiser. I can use tampons now, and sex is awesome. It use to

be such a chore. I have seen the ultra sound with the UD, they are

both about the same size. I think I am going to go back to my RE

that removed the septum. She was very helpful. I am at least going

to get her insight into a new OB/GYN. The more I think about it, I

think my current OB/GYN may find me to be a liability. I would ask

her questions and she would always just refer me back to the RE. I

just hate having to do all of this nonsense. I should have went to

medical school. It would have saved a lot of hassle.
