Guest guest
I'm wondering why Dr Z doesn't use the autotransfusion system that West uses, Cell Saver, to prevent blood loss. Went to see him today for a final round of pre-op questions and he says he uses that drug, I think they inject it, it's " ___pressin " (sp) or something. I'd heard of it before. He doubts I will need a transfusion yet referred to a surgery he did last week where he had to decide between cutting more fibroids (a woman who had tons like me) and ending the surgery because blood loss. Any ideas? and e, did you require transfusions during your myos? Cyndi
Guest guest
I didn't require a transfusion with HIM but did after the first placebo myo. I have already had twelve units I stopped worrying about it when it meant the difference between life and death. I wasn't worried about it when I talked to him. He had permission to just transfuse so you'll need to check with . He couldn't have lost too much though because I was only a bit light headed post surgery in I went in with a hemo in the nines. He controlled the bleeding really well and this was a 4 hr surgery most of it reconstruction from the first myo. It only took him thirty minutes to remove the tumor and the damaged skin nearby (which he sent for a biopsy to remove the fear of adenomyosis...see He is smart) and he said when it was gone " it just fell into place " and then he went about closing me up. He did nice work and whoever glued on my steristrips did fine work. Snicker couldn't get those buggers off for four weeks. Did you ask him about using the cell saver? or the nurses? --- Fastproduct@... wrote: > I'm wondering why Dr Z doesn't use the > autotransfusion system that West uses, > Cell Saver, to prevent blood loss. > > Went to see him today for a final round of pre-op > questions and he says he > uses that drug, I think they inject it, it's > " ___pressin " (sp) or something.
