Seeking advice on UFE

Hi, I am new to this group. I wonder if anyone could give me their insight.

I am considering UFE for multiple, symptomatic fibroids (back pain, clots,

cramps) . Two gynecologists and two radiologists have told me that they consider

me a reasonable candidate for this procedure. I am 50 and had a myomectomy for

a pedunculated fibroid without complications 8 years ago. I am currently on

daily Ayestin in an attempt to control the bleeding.

I was wondering if anybody in this group who had UFE 1-2 years ago might not

mind sharing their experience? The reason I mention this time frame is because I

have read that takes time for the fibroids to shrink and for the symptoms to

disappear completely. I know that the immediate post-op period may be painful

and anti-inflammatories are required to control the pain.

How long did you have to take anti-inflammatories until you were pain free? How

long before the material of the dying fibroids stopped being expelled? How long

until you got your period back? Did the procedure affect intimate relationships

due to pain or discomfort that was different to what you had experienced with

the fibroids? Did you have complications that you would like to warn me about?

I hope this note is not too long. I appreciate and thank you in advance for

your feedback.
