Yes, this happened to my son a few months ago. The tics were in the form of

eye blinking and kind of rolling his eyes back in his head, and they occurred

towards the tail end of a cold he had. We took him to a neurologist, ENT doc,

and eye doctor and they all had different opinions. The tics went away on their

own, then came back two weeks later...when my son got a cold again, or the

previous cold reoccurred. The tics were there for about 7 days and nothing I

tried seemed to help. To make a long story short, I put him on Lauricidin, and

the tics were 75% better the next day and gone the second day. So my guess is

that Lauricidin tackled whatever was causing the tics. A virus? Strep related?

Hi, Is therea anyone out there right now that has had recent experience with

tics that have come out of nowhere?? We took my son to the er last night

because we werent sure what was going on. They said its not seizure activity

because he talked the whole time and interacted with all the doctors etc. I

was giving some valtrex and stopped it because i thought it was causing the

motor tics. I happened right after a cold last week. He didnt have a fever

so i thought it couldnt be strep. we gave lots of magnesium but nothing it

working to help him. We thought we heard some hiccups. In the morning he

gets up and its an hour before they start, and it builds up.

He is an energetic child and happy, except now he looks so sad

because these tics really are bothering him .

We are seeing his ped on monday. Any thoughts?????????????? You can

Ask the pedi to draw some blood and run a strep ASO and an Anti-

DNASE. If these are significantly high, it could mean an active or

recent bout of strep and you may need an antibiotic. Look up PANDAS

on the internet, too.

For my #1, this generally meant he had a yeast issue.

Check " my son's update " in my Site Update message I will post in a

minute. This sounds like my son and viral die off. He did get a few

sores on his lips/mouth, altho most of them were on his body.

Lauricidin [monolaurin] did cause MAJOR yeast for my kids.

Good luck.
