Hi everyone,

I have a question about everyone and their scars who have had

vertical myo's. I had a c-section in Aug 02 and my scar was very

flat. I just had my myo on March 18th and when I rub my finger on my

scar apart of it feels raised. I can't really explain it all I know

is it's not smooth and flat like it used to be.

Does anyone else's scar do this? Does need more time to heal? I'm

just nervous thinking something is wrong and it healed wrong.

Thanks for any replies,

Pam

Hi Pam,

I have a vertical incision for my myo (2/19) as well that was done

along the same line as my c/section from 12/02. My myo scar isn't

quite as long, so there is definitely a difference between the old

part and the new part - the new part is definitely more hard &

raised. At the bottom of my incision I can feel a sharp hard thing

on the inside. I asked my Dr. and she said it's a suture...because

it's my 2nd surgery in the same place they had to use the super

strength suture & I can feel it through my skin (every once in a

while if I turn a certain way it stabs me, too!). She said it would

eventually dissolve. I think the rest of the scar will soften in

time - it will just take a while. But since it's really 2 scars it

may never be quite as smooth or flat as the original.

I hope your recovery is going well!
