Hi,

A Hysteroscopy is considered an invasive procedure. You have to dilate

the cervix to get to it. It is considered " minimally invasive. "

Judith,

I guess I am opposite from you. I am an RN and when my doctor wanted

to do a hysteroscopy and d&c in the office I refused and insisted on a

hospital procedure because of the pain factor. That is the main

reason that the hospital would be best. Also if there is a polyp or

something that needs to be removed it can be done.

You can sign your consent forms prohibiting anything that you don't

want done. So no need to be fearful of unnecessary surgery that you

don't authorize. You must be very specific on your consent if you

have concerns about procedures that you don't want done.
