Guest guest
Welcome and never fear there are others of us with fibroids trying to start families as well. Some members have already had surgery to remove them and are now trying post-recovery. Others are trying alternative healing methods or other medical interventions. We've had " alumna " come back and let us know about their being pregnant post myo, and a couple post embo. We've had members who have been through pregnancies with fibroids in place and lived to tell the tale. We love to hear of success stories. There are options and fibroids is not a life sentence even though it can feel like it at times. Another book I highly recommend is What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibroids, which talks more about fibroids and fertility. You are among friends. Talk to us and we'll help you through it. The most important thing for you right now is helping get your bleeding under control and helping build back your health and strength. Ann we have been told that because of the placement of my > fibroids, it has probably interfered with the implantation of the > egg. I am very worried about my fertility. Guest guest
To peachyqueen27: I had submucous fibroids (3 small) also. I too experienced the heavy bleeding you have and it kept getting progressively worse each month. I also ended up in the ER for anemia and flooding with huge clots. The submucous fibroids usually cause long periods, flooding, clots, etc. I am older than you and also finished having children, so I decided and had a UAE done 16 months ago. Are you taking iron to get your levels of hemoglobin back up? It took about 4 months to get mine back up. The anemia and horrible bleeding were just sucking the life blood right out of me. I had good results from the UAE, but if you want children, this might not be the procedure to have. Maybe you could have a resection or a myo if you still want kids. Good luck and hope you are feeling a bit better.
Guest guest
In a way submucousal fibroids can be the best kind to have because they can often be removed in an outpatient surgery called hysteroscopic resection, also known as vaginal myomectomy. You can search the archives here and read alot about resections. Anyway, I would like to hear comments about submucous fibroids.
Guest guest
Hi, You'll need to get your iron counts up before you can do anything. It's hard when you bleed like this. I had a fibroid like yours. I had a myo. My heavy bleeding has stopped. I went to a RE which you may want to consider. They are trained in fertility issues. Whatever doc you choose, make sure they do LOTS of myos. Ask them if they've had any problems with any of their sugeries. Yes, your fibroids could be interfering with you getting pregnant. If you have a myo, you'll probally will need to have a C-section when you deliver. The more upset and stressed you are, the more problems you'll have getting pregnant even without fibroids. So as they say, don't borrow trouble. You need your blood counts up for a healty baby and/or surgery. Make sure you rest with your anemia. It can take a year to build up your iron stores. If the doc you see seems unwilling to answer questions or hasn't got the skills to help, find another. Tell the ladies here where you live and they might be able to help. Take your iron and vitamin C, rest and relax... don't borrow trouble. Ku peachyqueen27 peachyqueen27@...> wrote: I would like to hear comments about submucous fibroids. Guest guest
Thank you all for your kind words of support. I guess I forgot to mention it, but yes, I am taking iron--65 mg/3 times a day. I hope that it does help reduce the anemia. I went and had my blood drawn on Wednesday, so hopefully, I'll get those results soon. I know that my blood count will have to increase before any surgecial procedures can be done. I don't mind waiting for that. I just am living in fear of my next period in two weeks. I am hoping that when I go to the ob/gyn Monday, she can do/prescribe something. Again, thank you all for your comments. I really appreciate them. I will post how my doctor's appointment went on Monday afternoon.
