Hi Sue,

You and I (and Jackie too) had our ab myos about the same time - 8 weeks ago for

me. I returned to work full time with extra hours, at week 5-1/2. I would have

preferred to wait another week or even two, but $$$ determined otherwise! I was

advised by my doc to wait for my 6 week post-op visit before I resumed any

lifting, exercise, etc. I had my next follow up at week 7, and he said I was

free to do anything I could tolerate, and this from a doctor who is anything but

blase' - he's the best! () I have done pretty rigorous yard work the

past two weeks, digging, planting, hauling off debris, etc., plus " easy " ab

crunches, and getting back on my stationary bike. Swimming is my favorite

activity, however so far this year I am without a pool, but have been jonesing

for one of late. If you have access to one, try it out. I think you will find

as you do more, your body will welcome the activities. Good luck!

Subject: Exercise & lifting post-myo

I'm now just over 7 weeks post-myo & I went yesterday to see my gynae

for post-op check. I asked him what I can/can't now do in terms of

exercise & lifting & he said I can do what I want now, even go for a

jog!! I can't help feeling he was being a bit blase- surely it would

be unwise to do any heavy lifting or rigorous exercise just yet?
