I had to have my 13 year old Golden Retriever put to sleep last september. I was so heart-wrenching! As you know, the pain will ease with time....but that doesn't help right now. My heart is with you. I swore I would not get another dog....but I did get a lab puppy a month ago. It has helped...and it does not dishonor the memory of Thor...he will always be special. HUGS! She was blessed to have such a long life but i know its very hard expecially when you have to make the decision to put the dog down. I have been there and done that.
