Guest guest
I tried to attend the NYC Meetup yesterday, but couldn't find it. I was coming from another meeting, which ran late, so I arrived late. When I got to the scheduled meeting place, one of the guys behind the counter knew about the meeting and told me it had moved. But he didn't know where it had moved to. Can somebody please explain what happened? How does a meeting like this get moved without people being notified? I thought I would see a notification of change-of-venue when I got home and checked my email, but I have not received one. This was very disappointing. Did the meeting actually happen? I hope it went well. R.
Guest guest
, I don't know who, if anyone, was supposed to have been in charge of the NYC Meetup -- if there is such a person, she didn't show up. I was the first one to arrive, and by 2:15 pm two other women had come. The venue was completely inappropriate for this kind of meeting (as you saw, it was basically a video gaming joint, full of teenage boys screaming at each other), so I suggested to the other women that we go to a nearby restaurant. I told the kid at the counter the name and address of the place we were going and asked him to tell anyone else who showed up and asked about the UF Meetup to tell them where we were, but obviously he didn't think it was important enough to remember. Sorry that you weren't able to follow! I was quite disappointed by the experience.
