Guest guest
Hi - this is my first post so hope I am doing ok. I am 31 years old and have one fibroid 9*7*7cm (intramural and at the back of the uterus), two others over 7cm^3 and numerous smaller ones. My uterus is at my navel. Fortunately no pain but my periods are long and heavy and make me anaemic. I got married last year and am trying (very hard) to come to terms with what this means for my fertility. From what I have read in various books and on the web, it seems that studies done show 50% of women can conceive after myo but approx 25% can carry to term. Does anyone have any personal experience of this or know of friends that have had myos and since given birth and what were their circumstances? Many thanks
Guest guest
Hi Your situation sounds similar to mine. I am 11 days post myo. I had a 9 cm and 7 cm posterior intramural fibroid removed. I also had several small ones as well. My reason for having a myo was to maintain fertility. I am 36 with no children but will TTC later this year. My doc plus the OB/GYN specialist I went to told me that it would be harder to conceive with the fibroids than without. I chose to have the Myo. From what I have read the stats are typically based on that author or doctors personal experience. I have heard lots of stories from women on this list who have been able to conceive after myo and carry to term. My Doc seems pretty confident that I will be able to conceive and carry to term but will have to have a c- section. Hope this helps. --- Grove vgrove72@...> wrote: > From what I have read in various books and on the > web, it seems that studies done show 50% of women > can conceive after myo but approx 25% can carry to > term.
