Question about my upcoming surgery

I spoke with my doctor about my upcoming surgery (2/19/04). I am

having a partial hysterectomy. A question came up as to how the

surgeon determines if the fibroid and uterus can be taken via

laproscopy. He said that he determines this while I am on the

operating table. In other words, there is no guarantee that I will

not be cut fully.

Can any one who has had this done share their experience? Is the

doctor accurate? He has not ordered a second sonogram prior to the

surgery. He says that the Lupron I have been on should have also

shrunk this fibroid.
