Guest guest
I am still not clear on this, and my MYO. is coming in Feb. **Is it enough to write the following statement on the hospital admissions form, as well as the informed consent documents before surgery ? " I DO NOT WANT A HYSTERECTOMY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES OTHER THAN THOSE NECESSARY TO SAVE MY LIFE " . AND if they DO allow me to write the above on the forms, does this mean i should feel more secure, and that I should go ahead and sign the consent form ? My doc. may tell me he can't do the surgery unless I sign the consent form. **Someone suggested I could also write my doc. a week before surgery, and say " While it is a technical requirement that i sign the consent form, we have an understanding that you will not convert to a hysterectomy except to save my life and my signature on the consent form is subject to that agreement. " " Please notify me in writing if you are not agreeable to that. " But maybe the above statement is ALL I NEED to write on the forms, and I could give the statement to my doc. at the time of surgery instead. I don't know exactly what to do , or the timing of it.... I don't want to alienate my doc, but I want to feel secure too.... i want him to know that i trust him, since he does lots of myo's and is happy to give me a myo. I don't think he has ever converted from a myo. to a hyster. PLEASE ADVISE. I am very worried..
