Guest guest
Hi, My name is Char and I'm new to the board. I need a little assistance…well…truthfully…I need a lot of assistance and guidance. PLEASE! I'm 46 years old with an extended abdomen that houses a uterus the size of a watermelon. I'm having the basic symptoms of excessive bleeding, anemia, fatigue, PAIN. I've have the problem for quite a few years but I was unemployed due to a back injury for a few years and had no medical insurance. I live in Inglewood California and the doctor I had been seeing is Dr. Emmanuel MBA. I like Dr. MBA, mostly because he adamantly refuses to perform a hysterectomy and if I wanted one (which I don't) I'd have to seek another doctor. His recommendation is a myomectomy . The problem is I have Bluecross of California HMO and I can only see Dr. MBA if I am referred to him by my general doctor. Once I figured all that out I joined the Medical group he was in and selected a doctor….now Dr. MBA has dropped that particular medical group and I am in a heated search for another doctor. I did an inquiry into the UCLA Medical Group but I was told that there are only 4 doctors accepting new patients at this time and I don't know anything about them or how to get any patient recommendations on them. Can you ladies help me? I don't which way to turn and I would really like to have the surgery sometime this summer, I work at a University and it's a little light on activities during that time. I know I probably have a lot of footwork ahead of me and even some physical and mind psyching up to do. But I really need to get this taken care of and soon. Thanks in advance for any guidance, recommendations, or just plain old wisdom you can give me. Char
Guest guest
Hi, Be sure to treat your anemia. Take Slow FE iron and vitamin C. Stay on top of this, it can be dangerous. Also you can't have surgery if your counts are too low. You could call the offices of the 4 docs and ask what is needed for you to be a patient. Doc MBA might actually be able to help you if you call his office. Offices can often help. Many have people that handle insurance and how to get covered. Guest guest
Slow FE iron is a slow release iron. You can get it at Sam's Club (cheapest for me), Target, Walmart, K-mart or a pharmacy. A lot of places sell it. Don't take it with calcium or dairy. Orange juice or juice is great (vitamin C). Charlotte charapope@...> wrote:What is " Slow FE Iron?
